Drogheda Homeless Aid aims to restore dignity and hope by providing
care, support and shelter for homeless men, encouraging
self-development, independent living and resettlement. Drogheda
Homeless Aid, caters for **Apply on the website** residents?at any
one time who are staying in our dry hostel. Drogheda Homeless Aid is
also a housing association with 5 long term houses and 4 transitional
houses.
WE ARE LOOKING TO RECRUIT RELIEF SUPPORT WORKERS TO COVER A VARIETY OF
SHIFTS INCLUDING DAYS, WEEKENDS, AND OVERNIGHTS - working hours will
be based on the roster requirements and organisation?s needs.
Candidate has to be flexible to work various shift patterns in the
services and have a full clean drivers licence.
Candidate have to be available on short notice and preferably to be
located in **Apply on the website**k radius of Drogheda for easy
access.
INDUCTION TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN TO SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WHO ARE
SELECTED TO FORM A RELIEF PANEL.
_RELIEF SUPPORT WORKER (RELIEF) ? WEEKENDS AND/OR NIGHT:_
As a Relief Support Worker, you will play an important role in
ensuring and aiding clients achieve their full potential.
* You will assist them in building their strengths and abilities,
while maintaining a positive and trustworthy relationship.
* You will successfully assist clients in their physical, social,
emotional and daily life skills development
* You will assist clients and maintaining their well-being and
promote their development. The aim is to increase their independence
and allows them to function appropriately in the community.
_OTHER SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE _key component of this role
* Experience of working with and supporting people who are homeless
or vulnerable in a residential setting
* Ability to manage challenging behaviour, set clear boundaries, and
remain calm under pressure
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Be self-motivated, able to motivate, inspire and empower others
* Proven track record in meeting organisational needs / flexibility
in rostering
* Night duty staff must ensure the building is secure at night time.
ESSENTIAL
* Experience working in a similar role within a social care setting
is essential.
